Booksigning:  Josephus Daniels,
His Life and Times

August 28, 2013 6pm – 7:30pm

Legend has it that when Secretary of the Navy Josephus Daniels replaced the wine mess with coffee in all the navy vessels of WWI, the term Cup o’ Joe was born.

Join author Lee A. Craig for a ‘Cup o’ Joe’ as he presents his latest work, Josephus Daniels: His Life & Times.  Craig, an expert on economic history, delves into Daniels’s extensive archive to inform this nuanced and eminently readable biography, following Daniels’s rise to power in North Carolina and chronicling his influence on twentieth-century politics as a longtime leader of the Democratic Party and key member of Woodrow Wilson’s cabinet.

Professor Craig will be available to sign books following his presentation.
Books available for sale in the museum shop.
