In celebration of Vaclav Havel’s 80th anniversary, Alliance for New Music-Theatre and The Embassy of the Czech Republic present Havel’s “Protest” in a series of “apartment performances”.

Following a special, private “apartment performance” at the Czech Ambassador’s residence, the Alliance offers this limited public performance at the President Woodrow Wilson House on September 28th at 7 p.m.  (A third performance will be held at the Czech Cultural Center in New York City as part of a special Václav Havel Celebration launched by Mayor Bill de Blasio.)

Known for his plays, essays, and memoirs, Vaclav Havel was a playwright, activist and political prisoner, who became the last President of Czechoslovakia and the first President of the Czech Republic. Andrew Valins returns to the role of Vanek for his third production in The Havel Project. The production also features David Millstone, who performed the role of Father in Kafka’s Metamorphosis in the Alliance’s production both in D.C. and Prague. Directed by Susan Galbraith.
